With the new Mini Museum, a special place has been created on the Zwölferhorn that tells the true story of the von Trapp family—the family whose story inspired the world-famous film “The Sound of Music.” The Zwölferhorn and the view of St. Gilgen can be seen in the film’s opening credits, creating an authentic connection between the region and the history of the von Trapp family. The idea for the museum arose from the desire to keep the family’s story alive not only in Vermont but also in Salzburg. Together with the von Trapp family, an existing building was transformed into a lovingly designed mini museum.
