Catholic Church Strobl

Strobl, Salzburg, Österreich
St. Sigismund Catholic Church

Originally, Strobl belonged to the Parish of Thalgau.

In March 1757, two farmers asked the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg if the people could have a church of their own.
Prince-Archbishop Sigismund, Earl of Schrattenbach gave his consent in 1758 and on 3rd May, 1761, the church was dedicated to St. Sigismund.
In 1857, Strobl became a fully independent parish in its own right.
