The Wolfgangsee Run on October 18, 2026, Austria's largest landscape and adventure run with more than 4,000 participants, offers plenty of running fun.
The 5.2 km panoramic run (start in Strobl) is the perfect entry-level competition.
The flat 10 km shore run between Gschwendt and St. Wolfgang is also on the program.
Travel to both races is by boat (included in the entry fee).
The classic on Lake Wolfgang is and remains the 27 km long lake circuit - which will be run for the 53rd time. With the passage over the Falkenstein (220 meters in altitude) and countless, scenically unique sections, such as in Fürberg and Abersee, the myth of the Wolfgangsee Run emerged from the initial insider tip.
Since 2011, the running offer has been rounded off with the Salzkammergut Marathon over the classic 42.195 km distance. After the start in the imperial city of Bad Ischl and a good 15 km "run-up", the original 27 km classic loop around Lake Wolfgangsee follows. The participants were unanimous after the first two editions (both on gloriously beautiful fall days): "42.195 crisp kilometers - a top-class landscape and pleasure marathon with huge potential."
