Work the Lake Mentoring Kickoff Event

The Work the Lake Mentoring Program supports young people on their journey in the tourism industry, empowers and inspires them, and opens up new perspectives for their professional futures. Through one-on-one mentoring relationships, the program brings together students with experienced and aspiring leaders from the tourism and hospitality industries at Lake Wolfgang. The focus is not only on sharing experiences and practical knowledge, but also on intergenerational exchange and jointly shaping the future of tourism. This benefits both sides: Young people receive valuable guidance and support, while mentors gain new perspectives and inspiration from the next generation.

The official kickoff of the mentoring program will take place on November 18, 2026 . The meeting point is at the entrance to the Schafbergbahn in the ErlebnisQuartier.

The mentoring pairs will be matched in advance by program coordinator Benita Hinterberger based on personal questionnaires. At the kick-off event, the matched mentees and mentors will meet for the first time. They’ll get to know each other, discuss expectations, and then decide together whether they can envision working together during the upcoming mentoring year.

The program includes:

• Welcome and official kickoff
• Introduction to the Work the Lake Mentoring Program
• A brief talk by young entrepreneur Lisa Siegl on joy, passion, and her personal journey in the restaurant industry
• First meeting of the matched pairs
• Agreement on expectations, framework conditions, and next steps
• Exchange and Networking

Following the initial meet-and-greet, six to ten in-person or virtual meetings will take place throughout the mentoring year. The mentoring pairs will flexibly coordinate the time, location, and agenda among themselves.
