Helmut and Michaela Tucek - salt makers.
The Tucek trading family was active in Vienna for almost 80 years before Helmut Tucek specialised in the production of salt products from natural salt and revived the ancient craft of salt makers in the Salzkammergut. This globally unique profession was once endowed with many privileges and was first mentioned in a document in 1311, the year Hallstatt was raised as a market town. The Salzkontor opened in 2002 in Hallstatt, the oldest salt mining site in the world.
In addition to the shop in St. Wolfgang, the SALZKONTOR can also be found in Salzburg at the Christmas Market and at the Salzach Galleries.

Programme:
Groups are welcome to book an introduction (approx. 1/2 hour) to the world of salt production (please book in advance).

Shopping opportunity:
Hand-processed SPICE SALT AND BATHING SALT MIXTURES made from natural rock crystal salt from Altaussee. This salt consists of the same original 84 elements that built the earth and thus our bodies.
