The four seater chairlifts Tauplitz I and II (four kilometers long) take you from Tauplitz to the Tauplitzalm (1650 meters above sea level).
The Tauplitzalm is located in the heart of Austria, in the Ausseerland Salzkammergut, and at 1,650 meters, it is the highest lake plateau in Central Europe. It offers ideal conditions for mountain sports and enjoyment of nature: well-developed hiking routes along six picturesque lakes, the via ferrata Gamsblick for adventure enthusiasts, challenging mountain tours for experienced alpine climbers, as well as cozy walking paths for relaxed excursions. The environmentally friendly ascent with the 4-person chairlift ensures a comfortable start to the nature experience.
The plateau impresses with stunning panoramas, clear mountain air, and a sense of freedom. Surrounded by blooming alpine meadows, where gentian, alpine rose, globe flowers, stone carnations, or nigritella can be found depending on the season. In autumn, golden larch slopes bathe the landscape in warm light.
The high plateau is particularly striking during the 6-lake hike. An unforgettable nature experience amidst alpine beauty.
Bicycles are transported for free with the 4-person chairlift. The way down from the Tauplitzalm goes back via the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road into the valley towards Bad Mitterndorf. The return journey to Tauplitz takes place on the Salzkammergut cycle path "R 19".
