Alpline Culinary Art

The delicacies served on the mountain pastures around Wolfgangsee are mouth-watering: Kaspressknödel cheese dumplings with sauerkraut, Kaiserschmarrn fried pancakes with homemade stewed plums, delicious Pofesen, ... The mountain farmers produce their own specialities on site - cheese, milk, bacon, bread, hearty pastries and a good schnapps. Homemade curd cheese made from fresh alpine cow's milk is used to bake delicious curd strudel. Guests can visit the on-site cheese dairy at the Schnitzhof hut and see how the delicious cheese is made. Just sit back, enjoy the cosy atmosphere and the autumn sun, or continue hiking, whatever you feel like doing. Life tastes good at Wolfgangsee. From the mountain pastures to the taverns and gourmet restaurants around the lake. Autumn offers many delights: fresh game and fish dishes, mushrooms straight from the forest and sweet strudels, relaxing hours on lakeside terraces, picnics in the countryside and romantic autumn evenings in fine restaurants.
