Franzobel's "WOLF – The Mystical"

As the highlight of "1,100 Years of St Wolfgang", the mystical musical "WOLF - the Mystical" will be presented on the new, completely covered Salzkammergut Seebühne stage on Lake Wolfgangsee. There will be a total of 10 performances. The world premiere on 23 May 2024 will open up a new cultural dimension, and even the journey on board the WolfgangseeSchifffahrt will make the evening an unforgettable experience. What should we make of terms like miracle or saint these days? In 2024, WOLF - the Mystical is the Austrian answer to Jesus Christ Superstar, the mythology of Richard Wagner and a touch of Monty Python. The music theatre piece "Wolf - the Mystical" refers to the 1,100th birthday of Saint Wolfgang (924-2024). Based on the libretto by Franzobel, composer Gerd Hermann Ortler presents great music theatre - his first mystical. The new Salzkammergut lake stage on Lake Wolfgang, a mobile, flexible "Art Machine" by architect Eduard Neversal, can be experienced at the same time.

The play addresses the big questions of human existence and deals with the life of St Wolfgang. The play aims to entertain and at the same time promote respect for life. It shows the inner conflict between hedonism and contemplation based on Wolfgang's life story. The production is intended to be poetic and humorous and to inspire the audience.

18 performers and 12 musicians will bring prominent characters to the stage. The result is a world of mystical theatre and entertaining musical - a mystical!

The venue can only be reached by boat! Departures of the WolfgangseeSchifffahrt from 19:00 to 19:30 from the St. Wolfgang/Schafbergbahn and Gschwendt landing stages. Parking is available directly at the Gschwendt landing stage and at the St. Wolfgang/Schafbergbahn landing stage P5, P7 and P8, each a 2-3 minute walk away  
There is no parking available at the venue itself!!!
